Preferred Community Bank recently purchased the branch location at 2511 Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres which was previously occupied by Colonial Bank. The existing branch of Preferred which is located in a storefront shopping center at 3020 Lee Boulevard will be moving into their new location this coming week. Laurey Jerriey, Preferred Community Bank’s Branch Manager, who was employed at the same Colonial Office said, “It feels like I’m home again.” Preferred Community Bank opened the branch in Lehigh Acres back in December 2007.

Preferred Community Bank completed their purchase of the bank’s new headquarters located at 4379 Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers. “We are extremely pleased this transaction has been completed,” state Brenda O’Neil, Preferred Community Bank’s Chairman & CEO. “We began this transaction as a lease for the bank space and as the property became available to purchase, we took advantage of the opportunity to own. Our new location on Colonial Boulevard will give us a real presence on a very busy corridor in the heart of the Fort Myers Community.” Although the shell of the building has already been completed, the interior construction design and buildout will begin immediately. The Bank’s new headquarters should be ready for occupancy in late 2009. The bank has an existing branch office located in the plaza. Additionally, in just two short years, the bank reached the milestone of $50 million in asset size at the end of May 2009.
